Getting Fixed Decimals
If you have to enter in lots of numbers to show currency or numbers requiring a fixed decimal such as two places to the left or more than two places, Excel can do this for you automatically. By using this feature in Excel, you can use your numeric keypad to enter those numbers in and save a key stroke on having to hit the period or decimal key. Just follow these instructions:
- Select Tools, Options.
- Then click on the Edit tab.
- Then select Fixed Decimal and enter the number of places to the left, default is two, but this can be changed by using the scroll arrow box. Once completed, just click the OK button.
This feature can be enabled or disabled. The default is disabled. Also, check out the other features on this option menu, Excel gives you the capability to change calculations, colors, data transition types, and much more.
Just click on the button for the Tiproom's Home Page.
