Turn Off Hibernation
If your notebook or PC is continually going into hibernation and making a large file on your system, then turn off by following these instructions:
- Click on the Start button, then select Settings, Control Panel.
- Double click on the Screen Saver, or you can simply do a right-click on the wallpaper, and select Properties.
- Select the Hibernate Tab, then uncheck hibernation box.
- Then click OK and once you have returned to the desktop, then execute a Restart.
The file called: hiberfil.sys will no longer exist. When you want to put the system in a sleep mode, simply select Start - Shutdown, then select Standby option.
